PCMS Annual Meeting

Phillips County Motorsports (PCMS) held their annual meeting last Saturday at the GN. At the meeting the board elected a new president and two Board Directors.

Dan Stout of Harlem, who has been on the PCMS board since it’s inception in 2002, was elected as the club’s third president. He will replace Marty Lundstrom, who was the club’s president during the past year. The board voted by ballot.

“I’m honored to be elected as the president of the board,” Stout said. “It’s a big honor for me to be chosen as president. I hope I can do my best all the time.”

Stout has been racing since 1984 and has raced at the Hi-Line Dragstrip for nearly every event including races and meetings.

“I’ve been to almost every race here since they’ve started,” Stout said. “I’ve also raced in Lewistown but this is my home track. This is where my loyalty lies, at the Malta track.”

Stout is also currently the board president of New Horizons in Harlem, which is a center for developmentally disabled adults.

“My son is developmentally disabled, so it is an honor to be a part of that board,” Stout said. “Two boards may be too much for me but we will see.”

Stout wasn’t the only officer elected. The board elected Dustin ViPond of Swift Current, Sask., as the group’s newest Board Director over Malta’s Shon Lundstrom. ViPond will fill former Director Don Snell’s spot.

John Carnahan unanimously retained his spot as the board’s Vice President.

The board elected to change a by-law pertaining to Scholarship Application verbiage. The board voted to allow agriculture students to apply for PCMS’ yearly scholarship and award scholarships to two current applicants that are agricultural majors.

The four winners of the PCMS $500 scholarships include Havre’s Zachary Frahm, a diesel, welding and auto tech student, Trent Herbert of Glasgow, who is studying welding with a minor in precision mechanics, Fairview’s Grace Dragseth, who is an Ag education student and Chinook’s Erika Anderson, who is a Agriculture operation tech student who will minor in Ag mechanics.
