One Nation, Under God

Hi-Line retirement's 100 Club has successful beginning

Due to the generosity of Phillips County residents, the One Hundred Club now has over 100 members. The Hi-Line Retirement Center Fund Raising Committee is happy to report the membership of the One Hundred Club is: 82 members donating $100; 11 silver memberships donating $250; 9 gold memberships donating $500; and several other donations which total $1772. With a total of $17,222 donated so far this year, half will be invested to begin an endowment and half will be used for much needed equipment for the retirement center. This ongoing project is the first and main endeavor for the fund raising committee this year. We are hoping more people will join in the coming days and weeks.

To honor the staff at the retirement home, a free barbeque was held on May 18, 2017 during National Nursing Home Week. We were also doing it to show our appreciation to those people who so generously gave in the past two years while the nursing home was struggling to stay open. All county residents were invited to attend. At the time, we thought it would be a great time to “kick off” our establishment of the One Hundred Club. The Committee has had many positive comments since we started and we hope many more people in the county will join us in supporting Hi-Line Retirement Center. Having the Retirement Center a vital part of our community for many years to come is our goal.

Anyone who donated had their name put in for a drawing held at the end of the June 3rd Car Show Susie Oxarart donated a rope planter which was won by Janice Reichelt. She also donated two Fudge Cow Pies, one of which was won by Doris Robinson and the other one by Kay Hould. Virginia Solberg won a lap quilt made by Sue Poulton; and Emree Stuart won the Barn Quilt made by Becky Green. These wonderful donations added to the fun of starting the One Hundred Club.
