Help with branding project, win $100 in Dino Dollars

When you think of your favorite place, what comes to mind? How do you know what a town or county values? How does a place make you feel welcome, want you to visit or even live there? The answer to all of these questions is; their brand.

A brand is not just a logo, a flag or letterhead. It’s how we present ourselves as a community. It’s the foundation for our marketing, and how we position new business to grow our economy. It’s the framework for future plans and projects. It’s how we build trust with those who currently support us and those yet to come. At its simplest, the brand is our story.

The Malta Chamber of Commerce, PhillCo, Phillips County, Cities of Malta, Dodson, Whitewater, Saco, Loring, Landusky, and Zortman have all come together to embark on creating a brand for Phillips County, and its communities.

The first step in this project is to gather your thoughts and ideas on what makes Phillips County and its communities stand out. What do we value? What’s important? What is our story? We want your help in identifying those key pieces, words, feelings, and phrases that make Phillips County what it is. You can provide your feedback through our survey. It is open from August 16-30. You can complete it online at https://goo.gl/forms/qk7Q9XCyN9N0uf522 and on the Chamber and PhillCo’s Facebook page. Paper versions are available at all local banks. If you would like to add your name to the survey, you will be entered into a $100 Dino Dollar Drawing. If not, your responses will remain anonymous.

Once your input is collected, the Working Group, made up of representatives from across the county, will examine and distill it down into brand pillars (3-5 statements and phrases that summarize our story) and a logo that captures our identity. The project hopes to create a brand for the county as an umbrella, with separate but closely related brands that distinguish each city.

The more responses to the survey we get, the clearer our picture becomes. So, please complete the survey yourself, and encourage your neighbors, family, and friends (even if they don’t reside in the county) to fill it out!

If you are interested in volunteering on this Working group, have input or questions about this project, please contact the Chamber at 654-1776 or PhillCo at 654-5525.
