Saco ranks well at State BPA

The Saco BPA chapter traveled to Billings for the 2018 State Leadership Conference held March 11-through-13th.

There were 1,200 competitors from 84 schools all over the state of Montana and in this highly competitive competition, only the top five in each event advance to Nationals.

Saco High School senior Chris DePuydt earned double state titles in Banking and Finance and Personal Financial Management. DePuydt also took tenth place in Network Administration Using Microsoft.

Devon Salveson, a junior at Saco, was runner-up in two events: Information Technology Concepts and PC Servicing and Troubleshooting. Salveson also placed third in Computer Security and sixth in ICD-10-CM Diagnostic Coding.

Senior Chandler Pippin was runner-up in ICD-10-CM Diagnostic Coding, third in Banking and Finance, and fifth in Information Technology Concepts.

Senior Jada Sudbrack placed fifth in ICD-10-CM Diagnostic Coding.

Saco's newest members also experienced success in their first state conference as freshman Brent Yeska placed eighth in both Computer Network Technology and ICD-10-CM Diagnostic Coding and Sophomore Dustin Ostrom placed ninth in Computer Network Technology and tenth in ICD-10-CM Diagnostic Coding.

Freshman Jaydyn Erickson placed ninth in ICD-10-CM Diagnostic Coding, and fellow freshman Chayten Pippin placed eleventh in ICD-10-CM Diagnostic Coding.

The team will compete in the National Conference in Dallas, Texas on May -through- 13. Saco BPA would like to extend a huge thank you to Becky DePuydt for her guidance and support and to the Malta BPA for inviting us to travel with them.
