Mavericks win first two game under new system

The North Country Mavericks basketball team won both of their games last weekend utilizing a new ball-control offense for the first time in live games.

“I have seen a big improvement in the team buying into my system, so things are looking up,” Coach Ralph Ellsworth said.

The team saw their first action in Lewistown at the Fergus Holiday Showcase on Friday, December 7, and on Saturday, December 8. The Mavericks defeated Shields Valley on day one 39-34. They then defeated Roy-Winifred 52-43 on day two.
