JOP Stahl warns motorists to slow down near emergency vehicles

What was at one-point common sense seems to have been lost on people and Phillips County Justice of the Peace Gayle Stahl thinks it is high time for a reminder: when approaching a stationary emergency vehicle on the highway, slow down and keep emergency personnel’s safety in mind when passing.

“In the last two weeks, we have got 50 citations written, Judge Stahl said. “People are in a hurry to get everyplace, and the law is on the books, but we have had so many people injured recently that the (Montana) Highway Patrol has started writing tickets.”
