One Nation, Under God

Loring News for November 4, 2020

10-26. With all the snow and cold temperatures, I keep thinking it's November instead of October! My apologies for November! But I did see that the forecast for this upcoming week is close to 60! Yes, it will be! Somewhere!

The sharp tail grouse are coming into the trees at my house more now that it is cold! The trees offer shelter, sustenance, and togetherness. Not concerned with social distancing!

Carol Lumsden and Etta Blunt visited with Debbie Dyrdahl one day this week! Debbie certainly enjoyed the visit!

Many of the ranchers are shipping their calves this week. Keeping those big cattle semis and trailers rolling down the road!

Cindy Clark and Dixie Stordahl braved the weather and drove to Tina Russell’s for Woman's Club! Heather Simonson was already there! So the four of us talked about some club business and snacked on Tina's treats then ventured out again! The night was dark, snow deep, and the wind howling! We all got home safely!

I finally saw Mars in the eastern sky at about 8 at night! It is a red planet and easy to spot if you have clear skies!

A huge shout out to the road crews and other people who keep us safe during the cold days of winter! And to the staff at the Hi-Line Retirement Center along with the residents! I admire you all so much!

I did have a strange thought go through my mind in the middle of the night a couple of days ago. Many of you know that I have taken up a new hobby in the last year and a half. I am learning to paint with watercolors and it is so satisfying! But that's a long time to paint a couple of pictures a week! Thinking what should I do with them...then wow! I could do a live video on Facebook and show several to sell to raise money for the Malta Foodbank! There is always a need in the community for the coffers of the food bank. Anyway, thank you to all who watched,

commented, and bought pictures! I think I sold 19 out of 22 that I had on the live! I will do it again but probably after the new year! And I got the inspiration to do the live video from Brenda Clark!

Until next time happy Halloween and stay Covid free!

11-4. This week has produced some awesomely colorful sunrises and sunsets! The moon is in the full phase for the second time in October so it was called the blue moon! Mars continued to partner with the moon as it traveled across the sky! Venus is brilliant in the morning sky!

The wind has been around during the daylight hours but disappears during the night, most of the time. The Loring Woman's Club helped sponsor a fun night for the kids with many games in the Loring Hall. The stations were set up a distance from each other. Everyone had a great time! As for myself, I was surprised that the extra noise affected me!

All the snow has disappeared! But more is predicted and anticipated!

Congratulations to the teams who have progressed on in the tourneys! The Maverick Volleyball team is on the way to divisional. The Mustang football team is participating in the second rounds of the playoffs!

I was in Whitewater to get my flu shot on Tuesday! It was painless!

On Saturday afternoon I had a visit from an old-time friend! Liza Dyrdahl drove out to Loring to visit me! We talked and talked! Nice to get caught up with an old friend!

I met DollyAnne Wilcutt for lunch on Thursday. We haven't chatted in a long time. I'm happy to report that her foot is doing better.

Oh my, I can't wait for this election to be over! Just too many negative campaigns! Now if you can believe it certain people are predicting how many votes the individual candidates will get. I guess it's a job! Please be with us, dear Lord!

Remember to be kind!
