Hmm…RUMOR HAS IT…

The Bowdoin Dome refuses to admit defeat! There seems to be an impression abroad that there is oil out there, even though 30 years of sporadic trial have produced little but experience.

The rumor factories are busy again! During the past week, the News has been informed by two pretty reliable rumor-gatherers that a third attempt will be made by Texaco during 1948.

DARLING, SAVE THE LAST DANCE FOR ME

A capacity crowd from all directions in the county filled the city hall at the old-time dance given by the Military Order of Cooties. It was estimated to be over a thousand persons in attendance. The dance floor was so crowded that the going was a little crowded for the old-fashioned square dancing. The Fiddlers’ contest was held at midnight resulting in a tie between Oliver Olson of Turner and Art Gunter of Malta. Lou Perry was the master of ceremonies.

NO LONGER OVERSHADOWED

The Montana Highway Patrol stated one of the reasons the new application for driver’s licenses are being returned is where the name is given as Mrs. John Q. Smith, for instance, when the given name should be used, as Mary Hawkins Smith. While infrequent, this necessitates the return of the application and the making of a new set.
