Headline: Phillips County Created

Tuesday, the long waited for day when the vote for or against the creating of the new county, dawned bright and clear, and a more ideal day for the election could not have been wished for. The vote was very heavy in nearly all the precincts and the county division carried in all but one or two. That the people who have been working hard at work for the division are well satisfied is putting it mild. The division of the county carried by close to 85 percent for division, and Malta secured the permanent county seat by a 75 percent majority.

The cables now serving the old telephone office will be cut and all the lines to the new building activated. Simultaneously devices blocking off the dial equipment will be removed ... Headline: What Phillips County means to me

By Sara Hould

Phillips County is a place to grow and a place to live.

It's a place for agriculture.

It's a place with mountains and prairies.

Phillips County is a place for a wade in the river.

It's a place for laughter, and a place for tears.

Phillips County is a place for crops and farming.

In Phillips count you might hear,

Livestock,

Tractors roar.

Or, "I've struck gold."

Phillips County is a place for my family and your family.

IT was a place for our ancestors,

Phillips County is a piece of our heart.
