One Nation, Under God

Phillips County Museum News for May 27, 2015

Conservation is a fundamental responsibility of the PC Museum. Our mission is preservation of items for the enjoyment and education of our visitors presently and in the future. Taking care of our collections takes resources and effort on the part of the staff. Last week members of MAM (Montana Association of Museums) visited and presented a workshop to the staff. Also attending the workshop were representatives of Havre and Glasgow Museums. Broad guidelines and strategies for collection care, ideas for proper storage, and preservation care of items on display were all discussed. The grand finale was a hands-on mannequin workshop that will be immediately put to use in the museum. The workshop was sponsored by a Helping Hands grant from the Montana History Foundation. Our spring/summer hours are Monday through Saturday. The PC Museum opens at 10:00 a.m. and closes at 5:00 p.m.
