One Nation, Under God

Loring News for July 13, 2016

Greetings to all my readers. I’m sure that you had a wonderful Independence Day celebration! Now on to the rest of the summer, soon the 101 Phillips County Fair will be here!

Tom and I witnessed our flycatcher babies fly from their nest and it was so awesome! all four have been flying around the yard catching millers and flies and gobbling them down!

Gary Dyrdahl and his family from Bend, Oregon, drove up to check out his old stomping grounds at the Dyrdahl place, Bradley ranch and visited with Iver Johanneson, Whitney Blunt, and Tom Stordahl. Gary graduated in the 60’s from Whitewater High. Safe travels home, Gary and Vickie!

Dixie Stordahl attended a memorial service for Peggy Tuttle Stanley at the Lutheran Church in Malta on Sunday. Peggy and Barbara Cowan were cousins. Peggy’s children and grandchildren made the trip from Florida to put Peggy to rest in Montana. I enjoyed visiting with relatives I had never met before and seeing some relatives that I rarely see.

Loring Community extends sympathy to the family of Mark Slade. Mark was married to Melanie Green and his daughter Mya, was just four years old.

Carol and Pete Lumsden have been enjoying the grandkids this summer! Matt Norville is here with his daughters for a couple of weeks. The Blunt kids are just down the road so it is fun for Carol!

I see that the bales in the ditches are being picked up and the cows will have some good eats for another year! As if there were enough to feed the cows. The rest of the hay fields also look good!

I’m not sure what is happening with the Simonson Cowgirls, Kiana and Keira, but I’m sure they are hitting as many rodeos as possible in this rodeo season!

We have seen much more rain than normal for this time of year. Just this morning we have nearly an inch of rain! But one day we did hit 95 degrees. I wonder if that was our summer day?

Have a great week, see you next time! Be sure to be safe while you skate at the skatepark!
