The Quack is Back!

The Quack is BACK!!

The Great Plains Dinosaur Museum (GPDM) announces that up to 500+ rubber duckies will race to the finish on Saturday, July 30th.

The traditional “duck boards”, offering numbered ducks for adoption for the fee of $5 are available at most taverns and businesses in Malta. The dinosaur twist to the race is in honor of the Hadrosaur or “Duckbill Dinosaur”, Montana’s state fossil and locally discovered dinosaurs such as Leonardo, Roberta, Peanut, and Elvis. Total prize money awarded for the regular DinoDuck Race event is $600 and includes a $100 incentive to the local salesman selling the winning duck.

The large 10 inch floating ducks will join the race again this year. These specialty ducks sell for $50 each and owners are encouraged to decorate their duck. This Duckbill Dinosaur Race is the major fund raiser for the museum this year. If you haven’t been contacted by one of the committee organizers, please stop by GPDM to make your purchase.

The museum officially opened for the season May 1st and staff report record visitors to date, many including school groups from across Montana. Cary Woodruff, the new staff paleon-tologist is busy with youth and adult dig and education pro-grams offered throughout the summer season. Visit our web-site for more details.
