    The Hi-Line Drag Strip hosted Phillips County Motorsports third points race of the 2016 season with around 110 racers present. The Montana Drag Racing Association was present along with association member Chad Robertson, who is the current two time Super Pro Class Champion.     By Millie Kindle Due to unforeseen circumstances the AMX races last Saturday in Dodson turned into timed trials. Everyone had a good day at the races. There were 14 cars with 2 first time drivers, Gage Abrahamson of Malta and Keith Cowan of Turner. In the Pitman Race, first time in the driver seat, Kalen Wiebe started his driving and racing career with anticipation of more to come.     The first of the six Hi-Line Dragstrip racing events is now in the books. The racers hit the starting line last Saturday and Sunday for the first official Phillips County Motorsports event of the year. The summer series, put on by PCMS started with a bang or a few thanks to Brad Janishewski's Fire 4 Hire crew.   • Malta's Snell named one of four PCMS Scholarship recipients

    Philips County Motor Sports Inc. announced the 2015 $500 scholarship recipients as Terence Snell, Malta, John Chinadle, Havre MT, Johnathan Lee, Scobey MT and Layne Gorder, Poplar MT. PCMS gives four scholarships each year to area senior entering into some type of mechanical study with the most popular being diesel and welding.     Though there was plenty of room in the stands for more to be seated, the 2 day event that was held for the benefit of TJ Kindle hosted by the Dodson Speedway was deemed a success.     Seventy-two racers took the line on a fair weathered and mosquito-less weekend at the Hi-Line Dragstrip, which started Saturday and ended Sunday. Havre's Josh Viall was on fire, sweeping the event for the Sportsman Class. On Sunday, Viall had a dial in time of 8.17 and a elapsed time of 8:21. On Saturday, he dialed in at 8.09 and also won.     The Dodson Speedway held their first of three Auto Motocross events this year last Sunday. When all the smoke cleared Havre’s Seth Hamilton brought home the first place trophy in the A main grouping. This comes after he placed first in the second preliminary group.
