The Malta City Council held its first meeting of June on Tuesday, at 5 p.m. Attending the meeting were councilpersons William Hicks, James Sintler, and Dave Rummel. Mother Nature gave us two nights of rain this week. In Loring, unofficially “official” the total rainfall was 2.5 inches! A lot of the low spots were full of water. It has been hot during the day almost every day now with a cooler night and of course, the wind blows every day. We have had several rainstorms in the night, relieving the dryness some but we welcome the moisture and take it as it comes. Despite having to detour guests temporarily as our new front door was being installed, we saw plenty of happy folks through the museum this week. My father’s been gone for 15 years, and while I can’t say I think about him every day, he’s never far from my thoughts.
