The American Legion of Montana announced last week that Malta American Legion Post #57 will host the Fall meeting for District 2. Vincent Schmoeckel, Commander of American Legion Post #57 in Malta, said that about 75 Legionnaires and members of the Auxiliary are expected to attend the Fall meeting of District # 2 on Saturday, September 22, at the Post home. Dodson Mayor Teresa Cole told the PCN that a town resident found a sickly raccoon in town last Tuesday afternoon. She said that Manfred Jones found the animal near Bud Phillips’ home and a Phillips County Sheriff’s Under Sheriff Scott Peigneux arrived a short time after and exterminated the raccoon. “We did send the animal’s head to the State to be tested,” Mayor Cole said. “But this is a reminder to all residents to have your pets vaccinated. On Tuesday, November 6, Montana's General Election will be held in which Judge Yvonne Laird and Glasgow Attorney Peter Helland will be on the ballot for the position of Montana District 17 Court Judge. The Mountain Plains Museum Association held their annual conference in Billings, Mont., this week. I was pleased to represent the PC Museum in Billings. The theme for the conference was “Stronger Together”.
