    On Veterans Day, Saturday the 11th of November, 2023, veterans of the various branches of the military were guests of honor at the annual dinner hosted by the VFW Auxiliary. Approximately 95-100 enjoyed dinner, which was followed by a "Blind Auction." Rick Mikkelson served as Chaplain for the blessing, and Junior members, CharLee and JaLee Anderson led the pledge to the flag.   • Fort Belknap Man Arraigned on Hoax Threat

    A Fort Belknap man suspected of making threats to blow up the school in Dodson, near the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation, was arraigned Tuesday on charges, U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich said today. Jacob Erwin Wilson, 40, pleaded not guilty to an indictment charging him with false information and hoaxes. If convicted of the most serious crime, Wilson faces a maximum of five years in prison, a $250,000 fine and three years of supervised release. U.S. Magistrate Judge John T. Johnston presided.   • Malta - South Construction Paused for the Winter Season

    The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and Wickens Construction have paused operations on the Malta - South project for the winter. Traffic control has been removed. In 2023, crews completed work on the Alkali Creek Bridge and the irrigation ditch bridge near the edge of town. She was born in Glasgow, Mont. to Faxton and June Castleberry on September 23, 1946. She graduated from Glasgow High School in 1964. Diann attended one year of college at Eastern Montana College.     All of us are aware of the Sleeping Buffalo Rock on Highway 2 between Malta and Saco. It was originally one of several on a ridge near Cree Crossing on the Milk River. H. G. Robinson first saw the rocks in 1892, when he observed a lone Native American dismount from his horse, raise his hands in prayer and walk toward it.     The season has kicked off for the Malta Wrestling Team, who competed in the Havre Mixer on Friday, December 1, and the Havre Invitational on Saturday, December 2.
