The 2nd annual Andrew Flansaas Memorial Run for Suicide Awareness and Prevention was held in Loring on Saturday, October 2, at 10:00 a.m. This year's event had 22 runners, almost doubling last year's total, had a 10k run and a 5k run/walk. During the last city council meeting on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, Public Works Director Jim Truelove said, “The crew is currently blowing out the sprinkler lines in the parks. That should be done this week. William Roger "Bill" Ferrell, 70 passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021, in Great Falls, MT. Bill was born July 25, 1951, in Havre, MT. He was raised in Havre until his dad transferred on the railroad to Malta in 1962. Bill went to job corp and when he came back to Malta he got a job working for the city of Malta. We are continuing our informal Grief Support Group by having gatherings once a month. The first Wednesday of the month we will meet at 6:30 to 7:30 at Dianne Salsbery’s residence beginning in October. Our once a month meeting will provide support for those who have lost a loved one, family member or friend. Our meetings are very informal and you are never pressured to share. The granddaugher of a Vietnam veteran, and great granddaughter of a Korean War veteran, Lauren Tuss, took pride and honor in the POW/MIA day of remembrance and honor.
